Hong Kong International Wushu Competition 2025

The Hong Kong International Wushu Competition is organized by the Hong Kong International Wushu Competition Committee and the Hong Kong Wushu School Limited. Under the guidance and auspices of the International Wushu Federation, the Wushu Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, the Chinese Wushu Association, and the Hong Kong Wushu Federation, sixteen editions of the competition have been successfully held in Hong Kong. These events have included the International Examination for Chinese Martial Arts Dan System, the World Wing Chun Championship, the “Rising Star” International Childrens Wushu Competition, the International Taekwondo Jeet Kune Do Championship, the World Martial Arts Championships for Schools, and the Overseas Fitness Qigong Level Evaluation. The first sixteen editions have welcomed tens of thousands of participants from over 50 countries and regions, including the United States, Greece, Colombia, Japan, the Philippines, Germany, Russia, Italy, South Korea, the Czech Republic, Poland, Canada, Australia, France, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Belgium, Norway, South Africa, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Thailand, Brazil, the Netherlands, Belarus, Chinese mainland, and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.

The 17th Hong Kong International Martial Arts Competition will be grandly held in Hong Kong from August 20 to 24, 2025. Concurrently, the International Examination for Chinese Martial Arts Dan Grades, the 13th World Wing Chun Championship, the “Rising Star” 13th International Children Martial Arts Competition, the 12th International Taekwondo Jeet Kune Do Championship, the International Fitness Qigong Exhibition, the 7th World Academic Martial Arts Championship, and the 5th Martial Arts Sanda Challenge will also take place.

The theme of this competition is “Promoting Chinese Culture and Promoting Civilized Health.” The content is more diverse and colorful, featuring nearly 700 categories with over 2,000 individual and all-around events, including various boxing styles, single and double practice of weapons, sparring, team events, Wing Chun series, Taekwondo patterns, combat disassembly projects, martial arts techniques, fitness routines, and combat sports. It also introduces the Grand Team Award, Team All-Around Award, and six age groups for men and women all-around awards in the children, youth, young adult, middle-aged first to second group, and senior categories, as well as the “King of Kings” Award and the Global Development Contribution Award for Martial Arts, with prizes exceeding 500,000 Hong Kong dollars. A special “Global Development Contribution Award for Martial Arts” has been established to reward outstanding groups and individuals who have promoted Chinese martial arts. To allow participants to admire the charm of Hong Kongs Oriental Pearl Tower and enjoy the fun of “Disney,”  “Ocean Park,” and “Lantau Island,” the event has specially arranged tours for participants to choose freely.
