The World Games (August 2025)

The 12th World Games is the official Multi-Sport Game which is hosted by the International World Games Association (IWGA). Most competitions contained in the General Competition Schedule will take place from August 7th to 17th, 2025 in Chengdu, China. On November 29, after being reviewed by the IWUF Technical Committee, the IWUF announced the competition regulations for the wushu competitions at the 2025 Chengdu World Games to all its members.
Wushu has been officially included into the sport program. The competition will be held from August 5 to 13, 2025, at the Sports Center Gymnasium in Chengdu High-tech Zone, China, and is expected to produce 12 gold medals. According to the IWGA General Program, the Wushu Taolu Competition will be held from August 5th to 10th, featuring six all-round events for both men and women, with a total of six gold medals to be awarded. The World Games Series 2024 program which helps building up excitement for TWG 2025 with 6 additional qualification seats in Taolu competition. Therefore, the athletes’ quota of each Taolu events was increased from 8 to 9, total Taolu athletes in quota increased from 48 to 54. Sanda Competition will be held from August 7th to 13th, featuring 6 events for both men and women, resulting in 6 gold medals, with 48 participants for both genders.
