World Tai Chi & Qigong Day 2022

Photo-Reports from selected locations

Newcastle, NSW

The threat of rain did not dampen the spirits of this group on World Tai Chi Qigong Day Newcastle NSW 2022.
Apart from a few drops, as always, the rain held off until the end of our session.
From Shi ba shi, Wu Qin Xi and Ba Duan Jin Qigong to Sun Style and Yang Style (contemporary and traditional) Taijiquan, the morning session provided an opportunity for all to share the joy of our ancient crafts.
It was another fabulous morning spent with students from The Tai Chi Centre and other members of the Newcastle community.

Rainy day in Sydney, unfortunately, made an outdoor session impossible.
However, Hornsby War Memorial Hall was an excellent alternative.

Wynyard, Tasmania

About 60 people turned up for the 2022 WTC&QD event in Wynyard Tasmania, run by the Wynyard Tai Chi and Qigong Group.
This year the weather was not favorable for an outdoor event, so we gathered in a hall to celebrate all things Tai Chi and Qigong.
Local teachers guided participants through a number of sessions which were open to both students and those new to the art.
This free event was supported by the Waratah Wynyard Council and the Tasmanian State Government Healthy Tasmania program and included a free morning tea and lunch.
“Come and Try” sessions in both Tai Chi and Qigong were very popular, and demonstrations by Wynyard teachers and their students included Sun Style, Yang 24 Forms and 32 Sword Forms.
Wynyard is a small rural town in North West Tasmania with a population of less than 6,000 residents, and yet between them, three local teachers teach nine local classes to more than 60 students per week.  Our video will be posted on the WTC&QD very soon.
