The 18th Hong Kong International Wushu Competition (August 2026)

The Hong Kong International Wushu Competition is hosted by the Organizing Committee of the Hong Kong International Wushu Competition and Hong Kong Wushu School Limited. Under the guidance and auspices of the International Wushu Federation, the Wushu Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, the Chinese Wushu Association and the Hong Kong China Wushu Association, the competition has been successfully held in Hong Kong for 17 sessions. It also hosts the International Examination for Chinese Wushu Duanwei System, the World Wing Chun Championship, the “Star of Tomorrow” International Children’s Wushu Competition, the International Taekwondo Poomsae Championship, the World School Wushu Championship and the Overseas Health Qigong Grade Evaluation. Over the first 17 sessions, the competition has attracted tens of thousands of athletes from more than 50 countries and regions, including the United States, Greece, Colombia, Japan, the Philippines, Germany, Russia, Italy, South Korea, the Czech Republic, Poland, Canada, Australia, France, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Belgium, Norway, South Africa, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Thailand, Brazil, the Netherlands, Belarus, Mexico, Malta, as well as the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan of China.
The 18th Hong Kong International Wushu Competition will be grandly held in Hong Kong from August 14 to 18, 2026. It will also host the 14th World Wing Chun Championship, the 14th “Star of Tomorrow” International Children’s Wushu Competition, the 13th International Taekwondo Poomsae Championship, the International Health Qigong Demonstration, the 8th World School Wushu Championship, the 6th Wushu Sanda Challenge and the 1st Hong Kong International Karate Elite Invitational Competition.
With the theme of “Carrying forward Chinese Culture and Promoting Civilization and Health”, this year’s competition features a more diverse and rich content. It includes nearly 700 categories and thousands of individual and all-around events, such as solo, pair, sparring and group events of various boxing styles and weaponry in Wushu, Wing Chun series, Taekwondo Poomsae, Karate, combat sparring events, Wushu skills, health qigong and competitive fighting events. The competition also sets up a total team grand prize, men’s and women’s individual all-around grand prizes for six age groups (Children’s Group, Juvenile Group, Youth Group, Middle-Aged Group 1 & 2, and Senior Group), the “King of Kings” Grand Prize, the Global Contribution Award for the Development of Wushu Sports, and other awards with a total value of over HK$500,000. A special “Global Contribution Award for the Development of Wushu Sports” is established to honor groups and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the promotion of Chinese Wushu.
This competition brings together elite Wushu practitioners from around the world. A large number of renowned experts and professors have taken up important positions such as Honorary Chairman, Honorary President, Honorary Director, Honorary Chairperson, Chief Referee, Chief of Arbitration, Chief Technical Advisor and Technical Director of the competition, including:
Mr. Wu Bin, a grandmaster of Chinese Wushu, Honorary Expert of the Expert Committee of the China National Wushu Research Institute, mentor of Jet Li and Wu Jing, and a 9th-Duan Wushu practitioner;
Mr. Chen Guorong, Consultant of the International Wushu Federation, Director of the Expert Committee of the China National Wushu Research Institute, and a 9th-Duan Wushu practitioner;
Mr. Wang Peikun, Expert of the Expert Committee of the China National Wushu Research Institute, one of China’s Top Ten Renowned Professors, and a 9th-Duan Wushu practitioner;
Mr. Yu Dinghai, compiler of the Health Qigong Wu Qin Xi (Five-Animal Frolics), a renowned Wushu professor, a 9th-Duan Wushu practitioner and a 9th-Duan Health Qigong practitioner;
Ms. Wen Zuohui, Expert of the Expert Committee of the China National Wushu Research Institute, one of China’s Top Ten Referees, and a 9th-Duan Wushu practitioner;
Ms. Zeng Meiying, a renowned Wushu master and a 9th-Duan Wushu practitioner;
Mr. Han Jianzhong, a renowned Wushu master and a 9th-Duan Wushu practitioner;
Mr. Zhao Youbin, a renowned Wushu master and a 9th-Duan Wushu practitioner;

Known worldwide as the “Pearl of the Orient”, the “City of Vibrance”, a “Shopping Paradise” and a “Gourmet Capital”, Hong Kong attracts global attention. The competition will also arrange for participants to visit the world-famous Disneyland, Ocean Park and the urban scenery of Hong Kong, allowing them to experience the unique blend of Chinese and Western social, economic and cultural features of Hong Kong as an international financial, trade and logistics center while participating in the competition. This grand event is bound to go down in history as a large-scale international comprehensive Wushu event integrating Wushu competitions, cultural exchanges, sightseeing and tourism, friendship building, and trade promotion.
