Kung Fu Soccer (2026) delivers the perfect blend of his signature comedy, imaginative kung fu action, and thrilling football sequences. The visuals are impressive, the pacing is engaging, and it’s packed with moments that are both hilarious and surprisingly heartfelt. Man so many people upset by this in the reviews. Lots of cringe inducing jokes, that are a bit offensive. Yeah tell me you haven’t watched a Stephen Chow film that wasn’t Shaolin Soccer or Kung Fu Hustle without telling me. The humor is incredibly slapstick, cartoonish and exactly what I expect from a Chow comedy. It is only a spiritual sequel to Shaolin Soccer so we get a whole new group of character in an all female team, but this time everyone is using martial arts in soccer. We get basically a whole world cup but of martial arts soccer and only the Pacific countries. Simple plot of friendship and the love of the game but mostly soccer. Way more soccer is played in this one then Shaolin. I had a bad day and Chow knew how to make it better. (letterbox)
