Tai Chi Supports Student Wellbeing at Loreto Normanhurst
27 July 2026
During the July school holidays, Theresa Perry from Theresa Perry Wellbeing was invited to support Year 12 students at Loreto Normanhurst as part of their Winter Academy wellbeing program.
The sessions introduced students to Tai Chi, mindfulness, meditation, and sound-based relaxation practices, providing practical tools to help manage stress, improve focus, and build resilience during their final year of schooling.
It is encouraging to see Tai Chi being embraced within mainstream schools as a valuable wellbeing practice. Beyond its traditional martial arts roots, Tai Chi supports balance, body awareness, concentration, and emotional regulation — skills that are increasingly important for young people today.
The students enthusiastically participated in moments of mindful movement, stillness, and relaxation, experiencing first hand the benefits of incorporating Tai Chi into their wellbeing toolkit.
Theresa thanks Loreto Normanhurst for the opportunity to share the benefits of Tai Chi with their students and contribute to the growing awareness of Tai Chi as a powerful practice for health and wellbeing.
